Because human rights studies encompass a range of issues and methodologies from a variety of academic fields, Columbia's Special Concentration in Human Rights allows students to take courses from many different departments. The above link lists the "Related Courses" offered by departments throughout Columbia in the current semester. A comprehensive list of those courses that are approved to count as "Related Courses" for the concentration is available as a pdf. Courses on these lists may be counted toward the Special Concentration in Human Rights.

Courses preceded by the designator HRTS are Human Rights courses, sponsored by the Program. Courses preceded by the designator HR followed by other letters are co-sponsored by the Program and an academic department. The other courses are offered by the individual departments. For full bulletin descriptions where we have not provided them, check individual department bulletin or web site listings.

Information is as up-to-date as possible. Confirm time and location with the Registrar Directory of Classes or with the department.

A comprehensive list of human rights courses offered throughout the University, including graduate courses, can also be found at: http://www.columbia.edu/cu/humanrights/courses/courses.htm
